Carol Vincent, President, Writer/Producer

Carol is the founder and president of Redbird Communications. She has worked in marketing and communications for 30-plus years as a strategic marketing advisor, creative director, and award-winning writer/producer. Carol began her career as managing editor for the Canadian Hospital Association, Judo Canada, the Canadian Track and Field Association, and the Canadian Sport Parachuting Association. (Yes, she jumped, 746 times.) She was writer/producer at a major Vancouver advertising agency and creative director at two Island agencies before founding Redbird Communications. Once dubbed the 'straightest creative person who ever lived', she is a stickler for the strategic underpinnings of creative campaigns, but loves a big idea above all. She has conducted behaviour change workshops and focus groups on energy conservation, diet and nutrition, organ donation and transplantation, and youth mental health, among other topics. Carol has a B.A. in psychology, and has completed a year of Health Care Organization and Management studies, as well as Dr. McKenzie-Mohr’s basic and advanced Community-based Social Marketing workshops. She was a panelist at BC Hydro’s Power Smart Forum in 2010, speaking on behaviour change as it relates to energy conservation. She has won numerous awards for her creative work and is a skilled writer, facilitator and public speaker. Ask about her legal magic mushroom experience!
