Alberni Valley Tourism wins marketing award

On Friday October 24th, at Tourism Vancouver Island’s 45th Annual Conference, the Alberni Valley Tourism council received recognition for its efforts and achievements over the past year by winning the Multi-Faceted Advertising Campaign award.
The Multi-Faceted Advertising Award recognizes a business or organization for its innovative use of various forms of advertising in a campaign that was successful in attracting traveling consumers. Alberni Valley Tourism won the award for its Bear Tracks and Lumberjacks brand, and a year-long campaign that included a photo contest, the development of a website, newspaper and TV advertising, brochures, kids’ placemats, flags, stickers, and a Seven Wonders of the Alberni Valley contest.

Port Alberni Tourism Project
Working with the Alberni Valley Tourism Council, Redbird has identified and promoted the 'Seven Wonders of the Alberni Valley'. This month we sent teams of mystery tourists to the valley to raise awareness among locals about their top attractions. Instant cash prizes of $10 per wonder were awarded to residents who were stopped on the street and asked to name them. The promotion is generating very high awareness: on our first visit on July 30th, 50% of respondents could name four or more wonders, and on our second visit August 6th, 73% of respondents could name four or more. A total of $3000 will be awarded.
Power To Be Adventure Therapy Society Kayaking Expedition
Power To Be Adventure Therapy Society took seven Redbirds (and fledglings) on a kayaking expedition to thank us for some pro bono work we've done over the past few years. Pink cheeks, sore shoulders, and big smiles = an excellent adventure of our own!
