October 2008 Blog Posts
On Friday October 24th, at Tourism Vancouver Island’s 45th Annual Conference, the Alberni Valley Tourism council received recognition for its efforts and achievements over the past year by winning the Multi-Faceted Advertising Campaign award.
The Multi-Faceted Advertising Award recognizes a business or organization for its innovative use of various forms of advertising in a campaign that was successful in attracting traveling consumers. Alberni Valley Tourism won the award for its Bear Tracks and Lumberjacks brand, and a year-long campaign that included a photo contest, the development of a website, newspaper and TV advertising, brochures, kids’ placemats, flags, stickers, and a Seven Wonders of the Alberni Valley contest.

Hello everyone, my name is Shane Vincent and I am a web developer with Redbird Communications. Our president has graciously opened up the Redbird blog to employee posts, so I've decided to use this opportunity to shamelessly promote my personal website - hah!
CanadaGTiR.com | Nissan Pulsar Forum Canada
This site was born out of my love for the Nissan Pulsar GTiR, a right hand drive import from Japan. I had such a difficult time finding relevant local information on the car that I decided to create a Canada specific forum where I could find answers to all sorts of Nissan Pulsar questions. So far the site has been up for a bit less than a year, and already we've got a decent little community going. As of this writing the site has just under three hundred registered users posting topics and articles, and gets about 16,000 pageviews a month (thats just over 500 per day!)
The first winner of Redbird's 'Client Appreciation Freebie' award was Steve Torrence, Executive Director of the Construction Safety Network of BC. Steve chose to use his freebie on a logo for a new theatre company that he and wife Karen Golden are founding.
